The BRA Simplex is a mobile handheld unit for cleaning the inside of barrels directly at the storage location. It consists of a rotating cleaning head, an electric motor and a connecting pipe and is inserted through the bunghole (larger than Ø 37 mm) into barrels with a capacity of 225 to 600 litres.
Via the connecting pipe, the electric motor drives the R40 cleaning head, which rotates at 17 rpm and covers the entire inside of the barrel (360°) with its two nozzles. The slowly turning, three-dimensionally rotating cleaning head ensures effective and gentle cleaning of the entire inner surface of the wine barrel and removes tartar without damaging the wood structure. During and after cleaning, an integrated injector system extracts the dirty water through the suction pipe – the vacuum required for this is generated by the high pressure of the cleaning water. Cleaning and extraction thus take place in a single operation; a complete cycle takes approx. 3–5 minutes.
Thanks to the modular design, the cleaning head, motor and connecting pipe can be replaced individually, so the unit is quickly ready for use again after servicing. The bunghole fixture ensures a secure hold on the barrel; power is supplied via a plug with a 10 m cable. The BRA Simplex is durable, easy to maintain and runs very quietly.
